Insurances Accepted for Psychological Testing

Any fees for services provided not covered by the insurance company will be your responsibility. You are responsible for paying applicable co-pays, co-insurance amounts, or deductibles at the time of service.

Self-Pay Rates

The standard fee for comprehensive psychological testing at our practice is $1,500. This flat rate covers all aspects of the evaluation process, including initial interviews, test administration, scoring, interpretation, and a comprehensive written report. This fee applies to all types of evaluations. Costs do not change despite the client’s age.

*Academic Achievement/Twice Exceptional (2e) Testing

Please note that academic achievement and twice exceptional (2e) assessments are classified as educational services and are not covered by insurance, regardless of whether other portions of your evaluation are billed to your insurance provider. These services require out-of-pocket payment. If these assessments are requested in conjunction with an insurance-billed evaluation, the following additional fees apply:

  • Academic Achievement = $300 (includes academic battery)

  • Twice exceptional (2e) = $600 (includes academic and cognitive battery)

  • If you are unable to pay the full $1,500 rate due to financial hardship, we offer a sliding scale fee based on your household income. To determine your eligibility and assigned rate, you will be asked to provide your yearly income amount; however, you will not be required to provide tax information or pay stubs. If you wish to be considered for the sliding scale, please let us know. We will review your information confidentially and inform you of your assigned fee before testing begins.

  • Typical report turn around is 4-6 weeks from completion of all testing. Requests for expedited psychological reporting are available for an additional fee, which is not billable to insurance and must be paid in full prior to the commencement of expedited services. Expedited options include delivery of the completed report within

    • One week (5 business days) = $400

    • Two weeks (10 business days) = $350

    • Three weeks (15 business days) = $300

… from the date all required interviews, testing, and collateral documentation have been received.

The expedited timeline begins only after all necessary information is submitted to the clinician. Expedited services are subject to clinician availability and case complexity, and may be declined if the shortened timeframe would compromise clinical quality. These fees are non-refundable once the expedited drafting process has begun. Expedited fees cover prioritization of data scoring, interpretation, and formal report writing, but do not guarantee any specific clinical outcome or recommendation. The completed report will be delivered securely by the end of the agreed-upon expedited timeframe.

  • We accept cash, most major debit and/or credit cards, HSA, FSA, and CareCredit as payment.

  • Insurance: We strive to provide accurate estimates of the costs for psychological testing services, including any amounts expected to be covered by your insurance and any out-of-pocket expenses for which you may be responsible. Please understand that these quotes are based on the information available to us at the time and on the details provided by your insurance company. Final costs may vary depending on your actual insurance coverage, deductible status, co-payments, and the services ultimately rendered.

You are responsible for paying any charges not covered by your insurance, including deductibles, co-insurance, and services not authorized or reimbursed by your plan. If you are quoted an incorrect amount and have overpaid, a refund will be issued promptly for any excess payment. Conversely, if your insurance denies coverage or pays less than expected, you are responsible for the remaining balance.

Payment Arrangments: Although we do not offer payment plans at this time, we do understand that testing can be a large up-front cost. We offer split payments, meaning that you can pay in 2 phases – 1/2 at the intake appointment and 1/2 at the face-to-face testing session. This applies to sliding scale fee arrangements as well.

Other: A form of payment is required to be kept on file at all times.

If you choose to discontinue testing for any reason, you are still required to pay the full fee for testing.

  • For clients who request it, our office will provide a superbill to clients. This superbill can be submitted by a client to their insurer for out-of-network benefits. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, and the client may be directly reimbursed some portion.
